North Padre Island

Every college kid has heard of SOUTH Padre Island near the very tip of Texas. Padre Island is divided by the Mansfield Channel into North and South. The North part is a state preserve and has loads of wildlife and is a birders paradise.

Coming there in early November the weather was beautiful enough to camp (do not try that in the summer) and the temparatures were pleasant throughout the day. This time of year one has the beach pretty much to themselves.
