Things that make me happy - the ride.

One of my favorite things to do for exercise is riding my bike. During the summer in 100F heat it is a little brutal to be out on the road, however, it is getting cooler and things are looking up. 83F is just great, 70F would be perfect - but let's not expect too much out of September :)

Here are a few snapshots from the road.

The ride has just begun and still getting warmed up:

Me. Should not be this red in the face quite yet - haha.

The Road - typical chip and seal stuff - easy to put in, inexpensive to maintain, pain to ride on - oh well.

The ride is along the backroads, few cars - which is great, no stores to grab water - which is bad, no-one else riding - which is a bummer. My only company is the various farm animals along the road and the occasional road kill.

Crossing Stillhouse lake and the Lampasas river. This stretch of road is smooth as glass and fun to ride on, however, if things were to go wrong and some driver was checking their phone, changing the radio station or day dreaming there are only three places to go: the rail (bad), over the rail (bad), and under the car (you get the idea). So even though the road is nice I am always glad when the bridge is behind me :)

Halfway. At this point turning around is no better option than going on. Did I mention that there is no water - out of bottles? - too bad.

Being paced by two tractors - never said I am fast.

Enjoy.
